August 10, 2015 - Stabilizing from Complication

Bleeding seems to have come to a halt from the second subclavian line extraction. His blood pressure and all other vitals continue to be stable, so the stent and operation are currently not needed. They will continue monitoring his progress from this issue, but for now things seemed to have calmed down.

We were visited by the kidney doctor today and from the kidney's standpoint, they are feeling good about his progression. It will still take a long time, but as all other organs continue to gain momentum so will his kidneys. They are happy with how the dialysis machine is hooked up and how his kidneys are responding.

Per the neurology team's recommendation, they have upped his sedative to keep his body calm while they continue to try and keep seizures to a minimum. Even though he is heavily sedated, he has been moving his head in what we hope is a response to some stimuli, continues to be swallowing, mouth reactions to oral care and having other reactions to pain stimuli.

Once again, thank you to all those who responded quickly to today's earlier post with prayers in light of the new complications and he has once again risen to the challenge! If anyone can do this it is him. Also a big thank you to those who have already shown financial support to help - more information can be found below and will be posted on additional follow up posts. Please spread the word, share, forward, Facebook, Tweet and whatever else you think would help!

We have established a designated fund (“Perry’s Transplant Fund”) for those of you wishing to provide financial assistance to cover Perry’s enormous and mounting medical, housing and rehabilitation expenses. Dearest Perry, Misty, Michael & Ryan: Please know that I, along with Kimberly, Paul & Michael, are following your incredible journey and have been praying for Perry's successful healing each and every day since his operation. Misty, your wonderful notations in keeping us informed are all so inspiring! The latest pictures of Perry, in spite of all the connections, look wonderful and show rosy cheeks not seen for a long time. With continued prayers and the novena to St Anthony, am sending much love and many hugs to both you and Perry. Wishing you God's blessing along with his special healing powers! Love you, Joanne xo
