February 15,2017 - Day 33

When we were first notified of Nate's accident, we all prepared ourselves for the worst as we made our way, as fast as we could, to the hospital. We were told (and I paraphrase) that should he survive, he would be in the hospital for months.

With strong heart and mind, but with a very broken body, Nate set out to start a very long road of healing.  These past five weeks have been emotional, painful and difficult beyond measure.  We get through some of the hardest times focusing on the reality that Nate is still here on this earth with us. By no means does this makes anything easier, it's simply a reality.

Today, by the grace of God (and Nate's wonderful health insurance plan), he was discharged from the hospital and moved to home care. We hope this will aid in improving his mental health and overall comfortibility while his body continues to heal.

Nate is still in a very fragile state and can't accept visitors just yet as we aim to keep him in a sterile environment. He wanted to express that he loves and misses everyone very much. He reminds us of how grateful he is for everyone's support, daily, and that he doesn't believe he would be here without it.

Thank you to everyone who has shared or emailed their words of encouragement and stories/memories for Nate. These touch him deeply on his hardest day.

Thank you all again for your continued prayers.
