Wow. Day 29.
It has been quite some time since our last post... It has felt like an eternity and a 'blink of time' all at once.
Each day Nate faces successes and challenges, progress and setbacks. We focus hard on the progress and celebrate the successes, but it is always in the forefront of our minds how long this road of healing and recovery will be for Nate.
Nate is in sable condition, with some of his injuries still causing concern to the doctors. His facial reconstructing surgery went well, but Nate faced some very real struggles and complications the week following. The team of doctors, nurses and family all caring for Nate as a unit has been nothing short of a blessing for him. He is encouraged by the love and support of everyone around him during this incredibly challenging physical and emotional time.
Although he still has a long road ahead of him as his body heals, he could also use prayer for strength in his emotional and psychological state. He is fighting to remain strong, but spends lengths of time alone, when our family is not allowed to be in his room, and we see how this is playing a role in weakening his fight. There is something that I ask of you; Nate could really use some words of encouragement, an uplifting memory or story you may have shared from spending time with him, or just to know he is in your thoughts and prayers. Please feel free to share in the comments below, or you can email me personally if you prefer at [email protected], so that I can share with him.
Thank you all for loving and caring about Nate and our Family, and for continuing to keep him in your prayers.
Our family love you all very much.
