Words from Rita....

I am now a little over 23 weeks post transplant and am doing miraculously well. There have been a few hiccups along the way since coming home, and though they were not unexpected or alarming, still not pleasant.  With some adjustments of my medication, symptoms and issues are being managed and I am now feeling great!  Though I am currently under supervision for cardiac rehab at UK, I hope to be able to manage that at home on my own very soon.  I continue to marvel everyday that God has given me a strong heart through the gift of another person's sacrifice.  There are not words to describe all the feelings and emotions that flow through my mind, heart and soul.  Life is a gift and I have been given the gift of life.

I want to try to express my gratitude and thanks for all the prayers, encouragement, and kind words that so many have posted on this site that my sister, Connie, set up.  First, I want to thank my sister for the excellent job she did on establishing the site and keeping everything updated.  God has given her such a gift with words and writing and a heart of compassion.  She expressed my heart so well with her posts.  Thank you, Connie.  I love you with all my HEART.  I am so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.  I have been overwhelmed by your words, by your prayers, and the loved expressed for me.  I have truly felt genuinely loved.  Your posts brought me encouragement, strength, and peace knowing that I had so many lifting me in prayer.  On the down days, it lifted me up.  On the up days, it strengthened me even more.  I read and reread each and every message many times over.  So, THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH for being there for me and with me through a very scary, tough and long journey.

I am so grateful and thankful to God for His provision for me in so many ways.  You'll never know the impact and power of your words on me.  You are all appreciated and loved so much.  From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

Rita

To witness the love you have for your Lord and Savior throughout this fearful experience has been such a blessing and inspiration to myself and so many others, too. I've been convicted in my own heart through your love for others, strength of faith and humor. We have been praying for you and continue to do so. Appreciate Connie taking lead on keeping us all updated on your journey. Thanks for sharing my friend!!
