Today I had my follow-up with my plastic surgeon. Everything is healing nicely...just a spot on one incision that opened up a bit from where they did the electrocardiogram. Dr. Micholleti said I could start walking June Bug again, but need to be careful. I will follow up with him again in January and again in March. It typically takes 6 months for the breasts to completely heal and then we will know the results, but I am pleased so far.
I then met with the radiology oncologists Dr Anderson and her resident Dr Allie and they gave me some good news. They feel I will only need 20 treatments instead of 30. (because of my pathology reports and successful surgery and chemo) So on Monday I have a long appointment where they will plan my treatment with various tests that map the area to be radiated. The radiologists will review the tests and create a plan. I should start the treatments the following week.
I am feeling good, but still a bit anemic from the chemo. I am especially thankful for my friends Tim and Jeff who were able to take June Bug (and me) for walks when Steve was at work the past couple weeks.
Wishing you all a healthy and happy Thanksgiving!
