First day done!!

Day #1 over! It went off with hardly a hitch too!  Once again everyone associated with KU Cancer Center was very considerate and understanding. However my heart did skip a beat when the technicians said my radiation measurements would have to be redone! All I could think was my ’visit’ to KC would be extended! But they assured me I would receive my first treatment today as scheduled!

After measurements taken, this time I was being watched by the Big Eye instead of the Star Wars-washing machine combo! My claustrophobia was and will be tested. A board was placed within 4”-5” of my face while the Big Eye rotated around my upper body. And I have been practicing holding my breath because that ’talent’ is also required during these treatments. Who knew I would come out of this experience cancer and claustophobic free!!

I don’t mean to make light of radiation or chemo treatments anyone has to take. But humor does and will help ME get through this part of this journey. And I have a new respect for good health and good friends.  And please remember to get your 3-D mammograms!!!

Hugs to you all....
