GOOD. NEWS. (Back at Stanford; Cycle 2)

Hello there!  I’m at Stanford Hospital, and I’m on 2 of 5 days of several chemotherapies. (Disclaimer: I’m on my 4 and 5 chemos in 3 weeks, any typo is the chemo’s fault! 🤪)

Most recent happy UPDATE:  Dr Ganjoo/Sarcoma specialist says I get to come home between treatments. So that means that every 2.5 weeks I will receive chemotherapy for either 3 days or 5 days continuously then likely get to go back home to recover!  Dr. Ganjoo/She is having me get my blood counts checked 2 times/wk and will get blood or platelet transfusions and all IN CHICO if/when needed. Stanford said that they will also be watching my blood counts daily while receiving chemo here and will transfuse if I need it. There are details to work out since I used to visit Paradise Cancer Center but thankfully the MD and NP’s here at Stanford are working on the details pretty diligently here for Chico. Nice.

Also, more good news: I only 4 cycles before surgery. So in my mind, I only have half the amount I thought I did. Each hospital admission is ONE cycle! Here’s the official correct SCHEDULE:

Nov 28-30 —-> CYCLE 1:  3 chemo over 48 hrs (DONE)

Dec 19-23 —-> CYCLE 2:   2 chemos for 5 days (1/2 way done)

Jan 9-12 ——> CYCLE 3: 3 chemo over 48 hrs

Jan 30-Feb 2 ——> CYCLE 4: 2 chemos for 5 days

*****SURGERY*****  Then 4 more more cycles as above.

Pretty good way to start this cycle, so much good news. I apologize for all of the detail updates, but so many are asking!

Thank you all so very much for your prayers, your thoughts, your love. God hears each one.

Love, Stacy
