Merry (late) Christmas

Camden, ME, USA

My mother and I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. We hope your day was filled by making memories with all of those you love. It has been a long few days of mom feeling yucky, But some visits with her family has left a sparkle in her eye.

Christmas has always been one of moms favorite holidays, and we have always been a family with our own set of traditions. Despite feeling  ill for the holiday, mom was able to get in her favorite tradition of watching a Christmas Story for a full 24 hours. Well I guess I should say, it was running on her television for a full 24 hours.  Tonight she mustered up the energy to open a few of the special gifts under her tree. After opening a few she decided she was tired. I truly think that was her excuse to stretch out her holiday by making her gifts last. Thinking back, she never has been one to rush into anything.

Each day is a new journey; but  she was reminded tonight that if she can successfully tackle knifes edge, she can tackle anything. Cheers to all our friends and family. From us to you, Merry (late) Christmas! Continue the positive vibes and love, as it is in her darkest times that she cracks a smile while being read the messages of love and support. I truly believe It was best stated; “it takes a village” and after the last few weeks  I couldn’t word it better if I tried. ❤️

Oh Susan and Em I am truly sorry to hear you are going thru this difficult time. This is the first I have heard of it and I will be diligent in my support of and love for you as you begin this process of putting cancer in your rear view mirror. Let me know of anything I can do and I will be in touch depending on what works best for you. Treatments in Camden or are you coming to Portland? I am certain that the support of your community, friends and fellow Casters for a Cure are solidly behind you and know that I will do my best to be a part of that. I will see you soon, as your schedule and ability permit. Xoxo
