Our BIG yard sale is here, today Friday May 17 and Saturday May 18. We have had over 50 individuals donate items to our sale and let's just say it's a LOT. OF. STUFF. :) So thankful for amazing friends to help me sort and price items, set up and take down, and during the day of the sale and for all that donated to our sale. It's been a TON of work, but so worth it.
As I checked Facebook this morning, the first post that came up on my newsfeed was of a new friend holding her daughter in India. Her and her husband just went to India to bring home their daughter. It gave me such hope and encouragement as we continue in this adoption journey. And motivation as today is going to be a busy day with our sale. That every paperwork (and there is so so much) every tear, every excitement, every check off our "to do" list in the process, every step of waiting, every prayer, every fundraiser, it will be worth it. We so look forward to when we will be able to meet our daughter, but for now, it's one step at a time and doing the new thing in the process. We are almost done with our home study and then we'll be getting all of our paperwork together for India.
I've been thinking a lot about how God has adopted us through Christ Jesus into His family. As I've been getting ready for this yard sale, I keep thinking of all that Father God did to get ready to send His son Jesus to make us way for us to have forgiveness of our sins and hope of eternal life. I am thankful as I'm pricing items with price stickers, that there's no price that we need to pay for the blood of Jesus and the forgiveness of our sins, but that Jesus paid it all. And that how priceless and precious our child in India is to us even now as we wait and are trusting the Lord in each step of the process.
Ephesians 1:5 in the Bible says, "In love He (God) predestined us for adoption as sons (and daughters) through Jesus Christ according to the purpose of His will to the praise of His glorious grace with which He has blessed us in the Beloved."
This song called "Family" also encourages my heart and often moves me to tears. That God takes us into His family.
We are so thankful for your support on this journey! Pray that it's a great sale and day!
