Good News

Dear Family and Friends,

I received good news from my oncologist today. My blood work revealed that I remain in remission, and the doctor is hopeful that it will be a long one. However, as expected, my immune system is still suppressed, so I need to be careful of infections. My next oncology check-up is scheduled for six months from now.[...]

Better Each Day

Dear Family and Friends,

I am making good progress and am doing a little better each day. On friday the PA removed the nasal splints. The good news is that there is no sign of infection and that the healing is progressing well. Happily, I can breathe through my nose, though only partially at this point. Seasons Greetings!

Dear Family and Friends,

I can never adequately convey my thanks to you all for your generosity, compassion, and prayers. [...]

A New Hope

Dear Family and Friends,

Great news, I am in remission! I have been given a second chance at life, and I am incredibly grateful.  Your support and prayers, some wonderful medical care, and divine intervention, have meant all the difference.  My blood cell counts are back to normal, and the doctor is so confident that he has said the port can be surgically removed. This was the best possible outcome. [...]

Slow but Steady Wins the Race

Dear Super Fans,

The last couple of weeks have been marked by slow but steady progress. Overall I'm feeling better. Fatigue is the main side effect from my chemotherapy. I am still averaging 1 to 2 naps per day, but my body is healing. Overall my appetite is normal.  My main goal now is to get enough rest and to avoid an infection which which would land me in the hospital. Fortunately I'm coming through the period where my immune system is at its weakest.  I still have 10 days until I know if the chemotherapy was effective in knocking the cancer into remission. Until then, I will continue to work remotely from home as I am able. [...]
