A Heart for Ministry part 1

Yesterday I was told with a few hours advance that I would be teaching a study that day, at a new home Bible study. Not having near enough time to prepare, knowing nothing of the people the study would be for and it being the first study I have given, I kind of laughed. I thanked the Lord for making me very unprepared and had full confidence that His Word would go forth and not come back void, without my preparation or experience. This study was at ground zero!!!

A very, very, poor family let us use the shack they sleep in and call home as the church. It was the first time the this study was given, so it was just the family, me and two other Filipino brother, signing, praying and hearing the Word of God spoken. God gave His perfect Word and all that were there were blessed, God showed His sovereign control over all our lives and it was clear that He has truly chosen the poor things of this world to become rich! Last week we were blessed enough to go to the Samar Hospital. This a free hospital on the poorest island in the Philippines, so to say the least, there is pain ossing out of the doors.

We prayed for most everyone in that hospital and preached the Good News of Jesus Christ and it was great to see the Lord moving in that place. Then we came to the last room and as I walked in the Spirit hit me and tears came to my eyes as I looked into the eyes of six women, none of them weighing over 50 pounds. As Denis began to pray I saw a women in her late twenties, early thirties who was obviously dying, use every bit of strength she had to sit up on her bed and join in the prayer. I was humbled and couldn't stop the tears, as we left the room I heard the Spirit say loud and clear, "Caleb, you must tell them about me!" I was so blessed to go with Pastor Gerry and others to the prison about a month and a half ago. Pastor Gerry had different members of the team pray for the prisoners. He then called to the front of the cell all those that were in for murder.
