The Theme continues: The Lord is Good.
Today I left work early to go home and study the word of God as I am teaching a bible study to night. My emotions were telling me not to, but the Holy Spirit convicted me and reminded me that the best place for me was in Gods Word and then telling others of Gods great love for them.
In preparation I had to read Romans 12 1-2. I immediately smiled as I realized that this is the book Caleb is currently teaching at the U-Turn Bible College in East Samar. I read the scripture and then a commentary. The commentary started by saying, " This is the ultimate verse that describes a missionary. Pause, my son, Caleb. I started to think, yes this was Caleb's call, he has been determined to yield his life to God so God could do what ever he wanted.
That is my determination also and I find myself willing to accept Gods Good and Holy Will. Knowing that this is Caleb and Cris Ann's commitment to the Lord and to each other gives me peace. Knowing that as a believer I can walk in the spirit without fear. I want to apply the word of God to these circumstances, acquiring the knowledge of Gods word and putting it into practice. IE: Studying the word and allowing the truth to give me peace. So that is what I did.
I was again reminded and assured of who God is, who I am in Him and that his ways are not my ways, but His ways are blessed.
I can and have cried out to God from my mother's heart demanding a perfect outcome, and then I have crumbled in faith and humility as God reminds me that he loves my son even more then me and my sons and his wife's suffering will be used for good His Holy Good = Peace.
Yes, it seems the circumstances change quickly, news of this terrible storm changes hourly, concerns for Caleb, Cris Ann and the Team changes with each new bit of news, BUT GOD REMAINS GOD, and I am grateful for that truth.
Blessings,
Dawn
