Jr Update

I am sorry I have not written any updates since Jr but I am teaching both the day and night classes here at the school. I am teaching Christ Centered IBS in the night classes and Romans during the day class. With preparation and teaching I have been very busy.

However I would like to update you on Jr, because the news about him is very encouraging.

Jr, the 14 year old boy who had his leg amputated last year, has made a radical change. With the donation from Blake and Megan he was able to buy new cloth and school supplies and with the monthly donation from Kathy he has once again found a hope for the future in his education. Jr was isolated and depressed when I met him. He was burdened with the fact that his dad was dead and now he could not provide for his poor family because of his disability. His last chance was school but his family could not afford the fare to get to school or the materials for the projects. He was hopeless, depressed and isolated. He called out to God and God saw his pain. Now, Jr is shinning with confidence and hope. Literally it looks like he has a light shinning around him. Every day he is out with his friends being social again and enjoying his new life in Christ. He is the best student and excelling in everything he does. Last weekend he was here and we were talking about some evil spirits here that the people are very afraid of. I explained to him the greatness of God and that He is the creator of all things. I went on to explain that if you really believe that this great God became a man and died a humiliating death for you, do you think He would allow any creature to touch him. We talk about the Good News of Jesus for about an hour and how it relates to fear, at the end he said, " Kuya Caleb, you need to tell everybody this!" He had understood and had a natural reaction to such Good News, 'we must tell everyone!'

The thing is, Jr does not realize it, but people are observing the radical change and hope he now lives with. His life is testimony to the Life giving power of the Gospel and it is undeniable! There is no need to say some prayer with Jr for him to be saved, he shines with the light of the Spirit of God and lives with the hope of Christ. He professes the name of Jesus when he gives thanks for his new life, no need for some unbiblical prayer, this kid is consumed with the Lord. He shows everybody his faith by what he does and how he lives, it is proof of his salvation. Jr has been given a New Life in Christ and He will never let Jr go. Jesus is so gracious to allow us to be a part of His work in Jr's life.
