Something Missing

Honestly, I came to the internet cafe excited! Excited to write about how mightily the Lord's work in the hospital was today and how lives were saved. However, the Lord has been weighing heavy something that was missing in my life. At times, prayer seems burdensome and a weighty task. It hasn't always been this way, at times in my life I have felt the power of open communication with the one true God and the intimacy one can only feel by dyeing of the flesh and being alone with our Father.[...]

A Heart for Ministry part 2

Several prisoners stepped forward, some with shame all over their face and others proudly, as if they wore this crime as a badge of honor. I asked the Lord to speck through me because I had no idea how to pray and once again the Lord showed He needs no one to get His will done. After the Word was given several men gave their lives to the care of our Lord!!! The Lord has put it on my heart to visit these places and other more often, as well as taking the Gospel to new parts of the island. We cannot reach these places and people more than once a month because that is what our provision allows. First and most importantly pray that the Lords moves on the Island of Samar and that he uses us to boldly bring forth the Good News of Jesus. Secondly, we are in need of provision to visit the places we would like to visit, help the people that need help and encouragement. Please if the Lord puts it on your heart to help, talk to my mom about how you can be a part of bring to Word and saving Grace of Jesus to a dying world. God Bless Caleb [...]

A Heart for Ministry part 1

Yesterday I was told with a few hours advance that I would be teaching a study that day, at a new home Bible study. Not having near enough time to prepare, knowing nothing of the people the study would be for and it being the first study I have given, I kind of laughed. I thanked the Lord for making me very unprepared and had full confidence that His Word would go forth and not come back void, without my preparation or experience. This study was at ground zero!!![...]

Iron Sharpens Iron

Last night Caleb and I were able to talk via, Skype. It was so good to see his face, his smile and to look into eyes. I said, Caleb please write and share your need for ongoing prayer and financial support. he replied, " Mom I will do that but for now God has led me to share the following. I know he will provide, he always does" And so I send you Caleb's latest update ~ Lord bless YOU ~ Dawn Title: Iron Sharpens Iron Being so far from home and loved ones, as well as, adapting to a very foreign culture can become very lonely at times. As for me, I like to put on my head phones, open the Bible and fellowship with the Lord. This always helps, but the Lord has been working with me on one aspect that causes loneliness when neglected. Fellowship with other Christians, having and building true relationships with other believers. Having brothers to joke with, morn with, pray with, confess sins to and hold each other accountable. Personally, I like to isolate when I get lonely, I do right and turn to the Lord and His Word, but God has been giving me true understanding of Proverbs 27:17 " As Iron sharpens iron so a man sharpens the countenance of His Friends." I love the way the Lord works, I have been reading a book on my free time concerning sin in my life that is being addressed. Little did I know that the Lord would show once more that He is in total control, giving me insight and understanding into the importance of deep Christian fellowship through a book concerning a completely different subject; praise God that He is in complete control and didn't wait for me to deal with the loneliness. This was also a great reminder not to worry! I tend to worry that if I don't pray enough, or pray the right things God somehow is not going to take care of all the needs of my family and me. So once again God's grace is evident, putting brothers around me that truly love the Lord and me, giving me understanding of Proverbs 27:17

Jesus is for all...

The island of Samar is like nothing I have ever experienced! Just the surroundings are straight out of National Geographic. We are surrounded by coconut and banana trees, snakes and spiders. The homes are some sort of wood or bamboo, with palm leaf roofs. Most do not have running water, there is a hand pump every so often in the village that the people use for drink, cooking, bathing, ect; I will take and post pictures next week. As for the people of Samar, they are shocked every time they see an American! All day we hear "hey Joe" or "hey Joe whats your name" which is referring to GI Joe. It is easy to tell when one of the kids have never seen a American before, he or she will stare in amazement. What is most amazing to me and God has truly touched my heart in this area, is that no matter were someone is from and no matter how foreign the people, we all have the same Jesus as our savior. I have always known this, that Jesus was for everyone in the world, but to actually see Him working in and through the people of Samar has opened my eyes to the one thing God's creation has in common, His son Jesus. No matter how far into the jungle we go, whether we are at the prison preaching to murders, or at the schools, the same Jesus that I knew in the United States is there opening peoples hearts to His saving grace! The People here are religious and most know who Jesus is, but they are in need of Jesus as a personal savior. The devil is using religion to trick people into thinking they are saved. I pray and hope you will also, for a true revival on this island. Knowing that no matter who the people are, what language they speak, or the culture they come from, we are all God's creation and through Jesus, God longs to restore fellowship with us all!!!

Thank You!

Hi to all the brothers and sisters in Christ! Most importantly, I want to take this time to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and involvement in the last few years. I want to thank God for allowing others to be involved in my families life and showing Christ's work powerfully through the body. A special thanks to my brother Paul, whom I love very much, for letting the Lord use him to make this web site, so that the body may stay contacted here. Honestly, God's grace is so amazing! The way He can "work all things for the good of those that love him and are called according to His purpose." So many mistakes I've made and continue to make, but thanks be to Jesus that I am "saved by grace through faith." It brings tears to my eyes to think of the last three and a half years. I know this, that my family and I could not have gone through it and can not do it with out the prayers of others. Just thinking and writing I feel so grateful for everyone involved and the Lord is showing me that we, as the body, can not fight this fight effectively with out each other. With that said, please continue to pray for me and my family and I will keep all the saints in my prayers as well. Well, I have so much to say about the Philippines, but I thought it was more important to show my gratitude and thankfulness to my brothers and sisters! Thank you and God Bless you for the work Jesus is doing through you!
