What Will I Do?

Just two weeks ago I made a decision to resign as the director of the School of Ministry. I was addressed with a question several times that I did not understand. I was asked, 'what will you do?' I never knew that most mission organizations and missionaries had a specific purpose other than reaching people with the Gospel. Church planting, medical missions and Bible Schools are just a few specific missions I have learned about and participated in. Then the question remains, 'what will I do?' Well, the Lord has provided a perfect house and yard to be used for ministry. We still have an army of children that we will continue to minister to and raise up. We will have much more time to give to them this year. However, it is not just children anymore, but we have many high schoolers and a few college students. These high schoolers, who were children when I came here, have been lured in by the world and all the darkness that comes during the teenage years. They don't come around anymore, they are to cool and too interested in girls and having fun. But the Lord gave me an idea to start a Ju-Jitsu class. I had tried this earlier this year and I had success, but I had no time or energy to keep it going. But now I have time to pour into these guys and I have many guys signed up and surly many more that will show up. After the lesson we will eat and have a time of fellowship where I will reveal the truths of the Gospel.

Just today, the Lord did something so amazing! He saved a dyeing girl and gave a lonely orphan boy a family. Cris Ann's cousin, Mary Ann, is very sick. She is eleven years old and weighs 30lbs. She is sickly skinny and has absolutely no energy to do anything. I asked what was wrong with her and the family told me she was diagnosed with tuberculosis and they bought some medicine but could not afford the rest and they said the medicine was ineffective anyways. It is not uncommon here for families to watch their loved ones suffer and die because they cannot afford treatment. Just this year Cris Ann's aunt died from a very treatable condition because they could not afford the treatment. This was the case of Mary Ann and she is within weeks of going to sleep and not waking up. I wanted to do something for her but I have no extra money. I have another person in my life and together it is very hard to make it a month on the same budget. We prayed about it and we decided to take her to my doctor whom I trust. We set aside the money for the visit, but we had no money for any type of tests or treatment. I figured Dr. Delgado could diagnose her and tell us exactly what we needed to save her and I would write about her and see if anyone would help. But the Lord provided in an amazing way. Dr. Delgado just happened to be the head of the TB council and he said he was able to get her the tests and treatment free of charge! Cris Ann and me were amazed and started praising the Lord immediately. However, the hospital does not give the TB tests unless there are five patients that need it, so they put the patients on a list and make them wait. Dr. Delgado, lead by the Lord, walked into the hospital, went upstairs and found a vile, then he said, 'we can't wait.' He gave her the test and we will begin the treatment on Friday. THANK YOU LORD!

As we were walking to get Mary Ann an ice cream we saw Jr. Jr is an orphan boy who lives on the street in town. His mother and father dropped him off in town and left him to begin their new life. Jr is around 11 or 12 and he has absolutely no one, he is totally alone. Me and Cris Ann have built a relationship with him this year, eating with him and giving him money to eat while we are in town. I have wanted to take him home but I have not had a home to take him too, but I do now. Cris Ann asked him if he wanted to come to the house, spend the night and if he wanted we would take him back to town in the morning. He said 'YES' and we were on our way. What will we do with a 12 year old orphan boy? I don't know, but I know the Lord has shown His favour on this boy and He will provide for him. Cris Ann just took home her cousin Mary Ann and she gave me the biggest huge she could and she walked away a girl with a new life. Jr is sleeping here with me here right know. We tried to introduce him to some of the kids, but he is to anti-stoical and he ran off. We will bring Japheth over later to play with Jr one on one. Jr knows and likes Japheth from the couple times we were in town together. Jr will have a place to sleep, food, friends and the love of his new family. I am so excited to see what the Lord will do in Jr's life, but I know it will be total transformation.

So what will I do? I will continue to share and live out the Gospel in a way that tottaly transforms people, communities and Islands. I am sure the Lord is moving in a powerful way and I will stay open to whatever He wants. Cris Ann is amazing and will be a vital piece in transforming the people here and directing them to the all satisfying Christ.
