Coffee Brewing ~

Gary is home ~ The morning after he got home I laid in bed listening to him piece the coffee pot back together. Patiently putting the machine back together piece by piece. I was wondering if it was broken, but then I could smell the wonderful aroma of fresh brewed coffee! I couldn't imagine how he worked all the pieces together but some how I knew he could.[...]

Unmerited Favor

I have been waiting for the right time to post on 'Post Hope' and my wife and me agree it's time. There is so much to say but it will take a bit more time to write what the Lord has done over the past three month. I want to say thank you for all the love and prayers from everyone. Cris Ann and me read every comment and post while we were in the hospital. We had no clue that any of this was going on. We thought we were alone, helpless and cut off from the world. In a sence this was true, but we soon found out that help was on the way and so many people were there for us. [...]

Why Does My Coffee Look Like Tea? The Theme Continues ~

Ok, so the coffee pot won. In times of peace I read the coffee pot manual, I fiddled with the coffee machine, putting the pieces where it seemed like they should go and looking back on how Gary would load and work the machine. When I was not feeling peace and was frazzled and frustrated, there were coffee beans on the floor and the counter, parts of the coffee machine all over and my coffee no matter what I did looked like tea....yuck.[...]

'THANK U'

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who prayed for Caleb and for everyone here in the Phillippines. Just want u to know that Caleb is out of the hospital now. THANK U LORD!!!  It was a heart breaking experience for me when we experienced the biggest storm in history and watching my husband having a seizure at the same time. Thank u soo much for your support and words of comfort and encouragement. We are now trying our best on how to get me a passport and visa so we could visit our family and friends in the States. I'm sooo excited to meet everyone and personally thank u for being there for us in these hard times. Today we are going to DFA to get my passport. Please pray that everything will go smoothly and that we may find a way on how to get it really soon. Please continue to pray for the victims of the typhoon. Thank u sooo much guys! [...]

Coffee Pots and Western Union

While Gary has been gone I haven't had my early morning coffee. That's because I don't know how to use the coffee pot! Yep, you heard it, Gary is the coffee maker in the family and our coffee pot reminds me of a space ship. What ever happened to the coffee machines where you put the little while paper filter in the top and you scooped the coffee out of the big metal can that you later used for bacon grease.[...]

Further News ~ Donations

Several people have asked and even donated financially to our family Thank you so much. If you desire to give money, Kings School has set up a fund so that you can get a receipt and  a tax deduction for your kindness. I feel I must tell you that the  money at this point will be used to pay for Caleb's medial bills and other expenses they are incurring. Gary remains determined to go back into East Samar before they leave as he feels the need to help the team and their rebuilding efforts.  He reports that although there is much to be done, the Good News of the Gospel is the Hope that precedes any concerns at this time and offers hope to all in the Philippines, including him, Caleb and Cris Ann.  [...]

Gary just let me know that he is with Cris Ann and Caleb in Manila. Caleb is in Saint Luke's Hospital in Union City. Caleb is exhausted, malnourished and experiencing seizures. They are running tests. Gary reports that he is well and is thankful for all of your love and support. Will keep you posted as further news comes in. I am able to talk with him on the phone while he is in Manila and it was good to hear his voice. Blessings Dawn[...]

Silence

Last night and today were quiet. No word from Gary and that is to be expected. It seems that some of my communication has been confusing, so I am sorry about that. Gary left Cebu on a 24 hour boat ride that was due to land on the island of East Samar last night at about 10:00pm our time. He knew that as soon as he got on the boat he would not be able to communicate with me. It is hard to sit in silence but, I have tremendous peace knowing that Gary has reached Caleb and Cris Ann, that they have some food and water but, most of all they have their dad Gary.[...]
