Caleb Barton Update ~ Your Support is needed

Hello Everyone!

I am supper excited about the next year of ministry in the Philippines. As for my role, it has changed and I have been given much more responsibility. I was ordained by Pastor Gerry Brown a couple weeks ago and put in charge of the Philippines School of Ministry. Our vision for the school is to raise up Pastors and missionaries that are on fire for the Lord and send them out all over Asia.

This, however, does not change my role as mentor and brother to the many needy children in Luxo-On. These kids are in desperate need of male guidance. The children that have dads do not have Christian dads. Because the death rate of males is so high, many children do not have dads at all. I have seen a clear calling on some of these kids’ lives and despite the persecution from the Catholic Church they stay faithful.

Once a week we travel to the jail and prison to teach the men the Word and minister to their needs. Also, once a month we travel deep into the jungle to a village that would have never heard the Word of God otherwise. The people in this village are hungry for the Word and have sent one of their young men to the school to be raised up as a Pastor. We are praying that he will establish a church in his village in a few years and continue to raise up men and women of God.

We need your support to continue the work being done in the Philippines. Any financial support given will come directly to me and I will pour it into these ministries and more. Honestly, I live on very little and I am completely content doing so, I live with, not above those who I am around. I will list some needs so you can have an idea of where the support will go, but please understand, in a place like Eastern Samar, Luxo-On, the needs are to numerous to list; just the families that are in need of basic medical attention and rice to survive are everywhere.

Your support will go to:

Helping those in the Borongy who need medicine, such as antibiotics, scabies treatment and fungi medication.In the children’s ministry we feed the kids and give prizes for games and memory verses. This ministry has brought joy to many children and their families who love to see their kids happy and cared for.We will purchase Bibles in Wari Wari and Tagalog for the prisoners and many, many others in need of them.Your support will allow us to buy a snack and personal care items for the prisoners. These men have nothing! The prison is the size of a master bedroom and the jail is the size of a small bedroom. In both, the men can barely move and are in desperate need of soap, sandals, and blankets to stay warm during the night and more.Your support will go to the School of Ministry, helping the students with supplies, food and study materials.Funds are needed to buy chickens and breed the fish to help feed the Filipino Pastors in the ministry.

Again, this list could go on and on with specific needs for people and ministry. If the Lord has put it on your heart to support His kingdom Philippines and Asia, I am thankful for that. I pray that the Lord will move in your heart and together, through your financial and prayer support, we will make disciples of all the world and invite men and women all over Asia to meet Jesus for the first time!
