Valerie has completed the first three rounds of the new clinical trial and has a break this week. She has had more nausea and fatigue with these treatments, which has kept her home more, but overall she describes it as going "Okay."
Today she is asking for prayer for the scans she will have tomorrow. She has experienced some severe stomach pain and nausea that caught her by surprise and kept her in the bed most of the day today. As a result she contacted the doctor and they have scheduled an out of cycle scan for tomorrow. She went in for an xray on Monday and they found nothing to explain the increased pain. They are hoping the scan tomorrow will give them needed insight into the cause of the stomach pain. The doctors say it could be fluid from the tumor, ulcers or (and we pray this is not the case) a progression of the cancer.
Please pray for good results from the scan tomorrow. Pray for relief from the pain and nausea. She is very aware and grateful for everyone's prayers and thoughts throughout her treatments. Keep praying that the scans show manageable issues and no further progression of the cancer.
On a separate note, Jane's canine companion, Lucky died in the night last night. She has had him for around 13 years and he has been a source of comfort and companionship throughout this trial. Please pray for comfort and peace for her as she grieves the loss of this precious little friend.
Thank you all again for your continued thoughts and prayers for Valerie and her family. We love and appreciate you all more than you can possibly know.
