DO YOU RECOGNIZE THESE HORSES?
We believe that these horses could have been lost during the Mendocino complex fire, and have been wandering ever since. An amazing man hiked with these horses in the horrific weather this Sunday (1/21/19) to get them to an old Forest Service corral, where they were given alfalfa and water.
I will be the one going to pick them up and trailer them to an area where they can be vet-checked and placed in a pasture to graze and rehabilitate. I cannot do this alone! I need your help!
This is heart breaking to see these horses in this condition and any support you can provide is so greatly appreciated. If you are local and have items that you can donate such as grain, blankets or hay – please let me know! Monetary donations and items are all appreciated!!!
These horses were seen originally out in the middle of the Yolla Bolly Wilderness at the beginning of hunting season. The person that saw them thought they were possibly a hunter’s horses out to graze. Unfortunately, over 2 months later they were found again near the same area of forest, with snow on the ground. They are in horrible shape; skin and bones, and almost starving to death! These horses need our help to get back up to a proper weight, be seen by a vet, and have a home to stay until they are healthy again.
I hope that the owners are out there somewhere and want their horses back! So please share this like crazy, as these horses are going to need a lot of forage, care, and effort to restore to good health.
So if you recognize these horses, can help out, or know someone that can, please pass this information along! Thank you!
