Home Sweet Home!

We made it home late Saturday! What a miracle - home two days early!

The docs let us leave - pain controlled, eating well, and healing beautifully! The two hour drive was uneventful and we were greeted with joy by Gramme and the kids! A rest-filled night

It was a glorious night full of sleep! ❤️ Zander finally fell asleep about 10:15, but woke with muscle spasms about every 15 minutes. At 2:00 the team agreed to increase his muscle relaxant. Once they did that he slept comfortably for 6 hours - woohoo![...]

Day 1 - Finally getting things under control

Poor Zander (and Daddy!) had a very long night, wracked with muscle spasms. The muscle spasms come as a result of all the muscles that were cut as part of the hip rebuild and the muscles that were lengthened during his surgery. The epidural ended up offering little relief for him. We finally have a good pain relief plan that took effect about 11:30 this morning. Zander actually got into a wheelchair and rolled the halls, ate a wee bit of lunch, and finally fell asleep! This is the first sleep he has gotten since surgery![...]
