Welcome to Rusty Oldenburg's PostHope Site

Welcome! Some friends & family, along with Rusty’s wife Ann Marie, have created this site to provide updates during these difficult times and to provide you a way to send your messages of love and support. 

After a valiant and incredible 18-year battle through multiple types of cancer and too many surgeries to count, we are deeply saddened to share that Rusty’s cancer came back in October and is terminal. He has entered home hospice care with Community Hospice and has been spending time with his beloved family and his many friends. 

As his condition progresses, visitors will need to be limited so it is our hope you will share your thoughts, personal stories about Rusty and notes of love and support for him and his family here on this site and we will make sure they get to him. You can even post photos!

With so many people reaching out about ways to show their love and support, we have established a donation fund on this site. This fund will be used at the sole discretion of Rusty & Ann Marie and family to help manage all related expenses now or in the future. Donations can be made securely using credit or debit card for any amount. PostHope.org generously makes these donations free of any platform fees (the only fees are normal credit card processing fees). All donations, large and small, come with the eternal gratitude. You can click on the "Donations" tab at the top of the page. 

Additionally, a "Meal Train" page has been created. This site is a great way to coordinate meal delivery, gift cards for food and it also has a way to donate funds - thank you so much for the donations already made! You can access the Meal Train page here: https://mealtrain.com/gke53e

Here are a few tips on how to use this site:

Follow this page: Please take 30 seconds to click on the "Follow" button on the top right of this page. This will allow you to receive updates, read journal entries, make donations, and share with others. Though not mandatory to follow, we encourage you to easily create an account with your name and email in order to be able to post photos and leave comments.

Journal: This tab is where you can read the latest entries and updates. You may see additional authors writing updates here to alleviate pressure on Ann Marie and family and to expedite information sharing. You can reply with supportive comments to any journal entry or click on the name of its author to send a private message.

Posts: This is where you can leave an encouraging message for Rusty and family, and to read thoughts left by others! If you have something pressing, you can contact us via private message. 

Notifications: After clicking “Follow” above, you’ll then see a tab to manage “Notifications”. You can tailor this feature to get as many or as few notifications as you prefer. 

Share: Please share this page with others who know and love Rusty and his family.
