One year anniversary
Dear all,
It is hard to believe a year has passed. We wanted to thank everyone, who has kept in touch, even if we have not always been responsive. It means a lot to us knowing that others care.
We are happy to announce that at this point the Angelika Amon Young Scientist Award has been established at the Koch Institute at MIT. We are very grateful for this partnership and look forward to remembering Angelika's passion for science and young scientists with this award. Every year, this award will recognize two young scientists from outside the US on the graduate level. The winners will be invited to visit and will receive the award during an event at the Koch Institute. While this award has been endowed to last in perpetuity, some of you have asked if others can contribute. Please do not feel obligated to donate but if you like to you are welcome to do so via https://giving.mit.edu/angelika-amon or by contacting MIT giving (same link at the bottom behind the form).
Yesterday, a gallery to remember Angelika was opened at the Koch Institute at MIT. It is located at the wing to the right when you enter the Koch Institute from 500 Main Street in Cambridge (see photo). We attended a small ceremony and really like how Angelika is recognized and remembered in the gallery. We want to thank everyone who helped make this happen. You are welcome to visit once the Koch Institute will open to the public again (hopefully soon).
Last summer, a small plaque was put on a tree in the Schlosspark Schoenbrunn in Vienna (at the Rosarium) remembering Angelika (see photo). You are welcome to visit that if you live in Vienna or are visiting Vienna.
In May, Clara, Theresa, and I buried Angelika's remains at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA (https://mountauburn.org/). If you like to visit you can find the grave at the cemetery on Butternut Path just a short distance on the left from Almy Road (you can park there if you like or walk from the entrance. I will be at the grave next Sunday, Nov 7, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM if you like to stop by then.
Best wishes
Johannes, Theresa and Clara

Alles Liebe, Julia
