Just Moved to 8479 (Private)

We've been waiting for this, Cindy moving to a private room when it's medically necessary.  This means the chemo is taking hold and her white count is diving toward "neutropenic."  Maybe not yet but soon.

Neutropenic means her immune system is tanking and we all have to be extra cautious when visiting

  1. Wash hands whenever you come in, even if you just stepped out for a moment
  2. Don't visit if you are unwell.
  3. If in doubt as to your wellness, wear a mask during your visit - the hospital has them.

Neutropenic also means the chemo is WORKING so her plan is working. (Neutropenic also means our insurance will COVER a private room because now it's medially necessary....we are grateful all of it.)

Go ahead and search on the web about neutropenia.  Meanwhile, here's a brief definition.

Neutropenia is when a person has a low level of neutrophils. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cell. All white blood cells help the body fight infection. Neutrophils fight infection by destroying harmful bacteria and fungi (yeast) that invade the body. Neutrophils are made in the bone marrow.

So we praise the Lord, offer many kudos to our wonderful docs and nurses and techs and pray for God to calm our fears and lift Cindy up.

Progress! Praying for more, and so happy Cindy will have the comfort of more privacy. Hugs to both of you.
