It's Complicated

The Leptotrichia Trevisanii bacteria has been ruled out so the Trevisans are off the hook for now.  Meanwhile, doctors seem to be teaming into Cindy’s room as work continues to get to the bottom of and treat an illusive bacteria, pneumonia and low blood potassium.

I’m not even going to attempt to decipher the page of notes I took today.  It’s complicated. Understatement!

A new doctor has been called in, a Nephrologist who is considering if magnesium is behind the low potassium.  Apparently, magnesium is the “gatekeeper” of potassium. Without magnesium, potassium simply passes through the body.  Never knew that. You?

Even though infections are expected at this stage, seeing Cindy go through all this is awfully hard. So we pray, cling to God and each other and power through toward better days ahead.

Her hair loss is quite pronounced now and Cindy wonders why it doesn’t all fall out already.

She and Glenn did two laps around the floor before ending the day listening to Our Daily Bread feature how words of encouragement (Colossians 1) can make such a difference for people desperate for a little light in their dark place.

Continuing to pray God's strength and peace over Cindy and over you. Praying for wisdom for every doctor, nurse and others caring for her. Ultimately, praying for complete healing. Proverbs 3:5-6 comes to mind while typing this. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." Love you guys!
