Taking it easy

Cindy’s first check-up on April 1 since returning home from her first week of consolidation chemo indicated her blood counts were down.  Low counts are not so good for you and me but for Cindy, ‘eez good!’

Apparently, blood counts bottom out seven to ten days following the beginning of chemotherapy. Cindy began consolidation chemo on March 25 so her lowest counts days would occur April 1 through April 4.

To illustrate, here are her April 1 counts compared with normal counts:

In addition to the blood draw, she also received a Neulasta shot to stimulate white cell production. Meanwhile, self care involves taking it easy, hand-washing and germ avoidance.

Feeling somewhat lethargic all week has not prevented her from doing a few things around the house in between naps and receiving a few visitors - Julie and Rich, Lauralynn, and Lisa.

Her next blood draws are Mondays, 4/8 and 4/15 so until those draws indicate her counts have rebounded, we presume she is immuno-compromised.  That means no church, shopping, restaurants, small gatherings, etc.

All indications so far is that she’s doing great. She already has an appointment for April 22 to begin her second week of consolidation chemo which should keep her on schedule to complete her fourth and, hopefully, final chemo week in late June.

We pray for continued good favor as we shoot for joining the Trevisan Family Reunion July 21.

I’m starting to get a little cabin fever. I’d ask y’all to pray for patience, but you know what they say about praying for patience 😜. I guess I should be thanking God that I’m cognitive enough to realize I'm bored! 😉👍 (I sure wasn’t in February). Thanks for all your encouragement, everyone!

Sunshine today 🌞: the crickets are calling, and the Tigers won opening day! My little hyacinth is following the sun. It's a classic example of photosynthesis. We too, open up in the presence of the Son..to his love, care, and healing. May you be strengthened through this journey toward wellness! We're cheering for you! 😍

PRAYERS PLEASE! Cindy has had a rough 24 hours and Glenn headed into Beaumont during the night. Not sure of what’s going on but I believe she’s being admitted to ICU. Praying for our merciful God to protect Cindy through this trial. Warriors, fervent prayer to lift up this faithful couple! Father God, we turn to you!
