First Day in Heaven
This rendition of "First Day in Heaven" was shared with me this morning by my dear friend and former colleague Colleen Rapson. Truly fitting as we returned Cindy to the ground yesterday. Close family held hands in a circle around the mound of dirt covering her remains. We prayed, sang a verse of "This Little Light of Mine" and closed reciting the Lord's Prayer together. Afterwards, we went out for breakfast and to begin to figure out how to resume life here without Cindy. But we have each other and the Lord to bind us together and carry us all home.
Also this morning, my sister Jan shared a link to this moving song by Kari Jobe, "Here"
Many of us who celebrated and remembered Cindy this week are headed off this morning to be surrounded by the love of our church families and to worship the God who carries us through life all the way "to the dirt" and on into a glorious eternity with Him and all others we love who belief. With them, no joy is lost in death. However, those we love who do not believe, let's keep them in prayer and sharing the love of our precious Savior. Only love can draw us home. Only love.
