We talked to the neurologist today and he says that my dad will hopefully be moving to a step-down unit tomorrow because his condition is stable enough, after that they will be sending him to either inpatient rehab or another rehab center. They said he would have to be in rehab for many months. His blood sugar was a high during the night so he is on insulin and an ADA approved diet. He keeps asking if we are being taken care of, he still doesn't know names but he know what place in line we are in terms of our birth, so Jamie is 1, I am 2, Melissa is 3 and Lindsey is the baby. He can count to 10 if he is prompted with 1 and the days of week if he is prompted with Monday but if they just ask him to count to 10 he has problems which is part of left brain that was damaged in the stroke. He is extremely irritated and keeps asking how long he has been in here, we just tell him a couple days. He likes to use cuss words and always says "this sucks." He also can't see out of his right eye but we hope it will come back as the blood in the brain is more obsorbed. We are really excited about the progress he is making and hope that we can eventually tell you that he can have visitors. However, at this time no vistors are allowed.
