An Oasis🏝

“But He also can turn a barren wilderness into an oasis with water.

Oasis-something serving as a refuge, relief, or pleasant change from what is usual, annoying, difficult, etc.
A peaceful area in the midst of a hectic place or situation.

A typical day at the Mayo Clinic consists of a morning office visit followed by chemotherapy in the afternoon. With a few hours to spare between appointments, Glen and I often take the skywalk to our sweet getaway in the heart of Rochester. Away from the noisy stir and hustle of the clinic, we settle in at our favorite restaurant. We found this place only because my dear friend Lisa from South Carolina sent us a gift card to Chester’s Kitchen. Stepping into this beautiful, relaxing atmosphere with delicious food, we instantly leave our troubles behind and enjoy the charming quietude of the moment while holding hands and enjoying the company of each other. 
I am so thankful for this little retreat in the middle of our hectic days. It has become an oasis for us on many occasions. 

Friends, I also know of another oasis where we can all continually dwell in a blissful place. Every day is a new day to find rest in the bosom of our Savior. He beckons us always to come to His sacred place and just behold Him—behold His loveliness and all that He alone is to us. 
Speak your heart to His. Tell Him what troubles your soul. Give your cares to Him and then wait patiently under the guidance of His greatness.  
Staying close by His side, nothing can harm us. He stands as a refuge and fortress, a shelter in time of need. Wait patiently to see how His Almighty power will work. He can change even the impossible situations and make them possible. 
Praying for you, dear friends, as you faithfully abide and trust in the shadow of the Almighty. How blessed we are to have daily companionship with the One who shares His heart with ours and brings such sweet peace and quietness to our souls.

"The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,
In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, " ~Isaiah 32:17-18
