A New Therapy

My Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Thank you for continually praying for Glen and I with faithful devotion to our blessed Lord who hears and responds to the petitions of the righteous.
After four rounds of chemo proved unsuccessful in treating the cancer tumors, two new chemo drugs were administered last month. One chemo treatment is dispensed every other week and the other one is given every four weeks. Although we won't know the effectiveness of the new drugs until my three month CT scan, our confident hope is in the living God and He is our peace.

‪On Thursday, February 13th, we will travel to the Mayo Clinic once again. Starting at 1 p.m. I will have the two chemotherapy infusions as well as a new clinical trial treatment called immunotherapy. This relatively new procedure is meant to stimulate my own immune system to fight the disease.

Please pray my body will continue to accept the new chemo treatments with no serious allergic reactions and shrink the present tumors. Also, if it is God's will, pray my immune system would respond to the immunotherapy and destroy the remaining cancer cells.

We know that God has brought us to Rochester, not only for my physical healing, but to testify to the gospel truth for the praise and glory of His grace. We are trusting Him to empower us with wisdom, love, and a compassionate desire to share the good news as He brings lost souls who are perishing to our chemo room one by one.

OUR HOPE WAITS FOR THE LORD
No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.
~Psalm 33:16-22
