I’ve Been Drafted
Dear Friends, a few years ago I remember having a conversation with my friend Lisa after church one Sunday. At the time she was going through chemo treatment for breast cancer. Trying to make sense of it all and accept the journey God designated, she sighed and remarked: "1 in 7 women receive a diagnosis for breast cancer. I'm the one out of 7."
Days before our conversation, I read the above devotional that forever changed my perspective on suffering. And so I shared the morning devo with her and then asked if she had thought about the fact that she was hand selected and chosen by God for a special service through cancer.
Friends, there is mystery involved in many of God's dealings with His children. Some are called for reasons unknown to an elite work where intense divine schooling and discipline are needed to prepare a soldier for special service. Don't ever look at training and divine discipline as something negative. They are the beautiful means God uses to equip us to work at greater capacity, to go places only a prepared few could enter.
Our Commander in Chief, the Lord Jesus Christ, is searching for those whom He can enlist in special operations forces. This rigorous training is needed to strengthen faith, to enlarge the heart with love, to increase the capacity to help others and to become like the One who requested her.
📖 Scripture Blessings
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier...Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things... but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
2 Timothy 2:3,4,7,9b,10
Fellow soldiers, let’s keep pressing forward to Zion. Cindy
