GOOD NEWS!!!

Warrior Elliott’s Neurologist spoke with Jacy and Nathan, Roxanne and I were able to be present. He had a stroke due to the massive blood loss. Most impacted is the upper left side of his brain, and some smaller areas on the right. The great news - it is not life threatening or devastating  as they were anticipating! He will face some challenges with therapy needs. Both the Neurologist and Neonatologist have reassured us that a newborn brain is highly resilient and only time will answer further questions. He is very stable now. Today will be a day of rest and letting him settle. He is tolerating his feedings well. We are rejoicing and anticipating that our little warrior will continue to surprise them all. Our miracle baby. [...]

April 15.

Good morning: Elliott had a quiet night, and his parents both got some good sleep. He remains on the ventilator and has been rewired for the eeg. Sometime today the Neurologist will be in to tell us more. In the meantime and regardless of their readings and reports we believe God is working miracles and Warrior  Elliott is going to knock their socks off. The best news is Elliott got some of his momma’s colostrum this morning! They will be feeding him through his stomach tube every three hours. We continue to be so thankful for God’s mercy and all of you![...]

FIrst Journal Entry: DAY FOUR of LIFE

Elliott has been on a wild journey in his short life, and we are so thankful for his survival. He is a warrior!  And he is God’s child. The cause of his obscure rare complication, following such a healthy pregnancy may always remain a mystery. There are many physicians with years of experience whom have never seen this type of massive fetal hemorrhage. They expressed little to no hope for survival his first few hours. He remains in the NICU with his folks staying onsite.  As many of you know, he was reintubated this morning for what has been classified as “mild” Pulmonary Hypertension. His lung status has slowly improved through the day. We pray that his lungs continue to heal.  We also pray that the brain MRI he had this afternoon will show healthy brain structure and he will have no neurological deficits. We believe in miracles, and God has provided many through the past four days.  We see His hand in all aspects of Elliott’s birth and survival.  We ask that you continue to cover him in your prayers.  As we come to the end of this very emotional rocky day, we are all rejoicing- for each of his parents are holding him for the very first time.  Thank you for your continued support and prayers. [...]
