What a loss to your family, to his many friends, to our community and to the cause of justice!

I am so sad. Fred and I had just exchanged emails in the past month or so and though he said he and Sara were sticking close to home instead of gallivanting around the world, as usual, I didn't appreciate the severity of his poor health. My years at OSF were tremendously enhanced by Fred's counsel -- as were the numerous grantee organizations he advised -- and friendship. I will miss him tremendously. My heart goes out to Sara, his kids and their families who all meant to much to him. With love, Susan Tucker

I am very sorry to hear of Fred's death. I felt very close to him during the years he coached me at Freedom to Marry through OSF, and in the friendship we maintained afterward. His insights and counsel were matched by his warmth and sparkle, and I will miss him greatly. Sara and Fred's family (which now includes so many, like me, he touched and helped) are in my thoughts.
