The blood cultures have come back this morning and the doctors say Harry has a staph infection that is not MRSA. This infection can be treated with antibiotics. He is still in the ICU due to the risk of stroke. He has sustained a series of “mini-strokes” that were caused by debris from the infection attaching itself around the heart and then breaking off, traveling through the blood stream and lodging in his brain. So far he seems to have no residual weakness from the strokes but is being constantly monitored by the awesome ICU nurse/doctor team. Harry will probably be in the ICU for a couple more days and then transferred to a patient floor. He will be on antibiotics for several weeks.
Debbie and her family request all comments and concerns be posted on this website. She will check it frequently. Please refrain from calling her or Harry’s cell phone at this time. She is also requesting that no more flowers be sent to his room due to space issues. Harry is still very weak and needs rest, so please wait to visit him until his health improves. Both Debbie and Harry feel your love and prayers. They are experiencing the “ peace that passes understanding” as they deal with each physical challenge. God is faithful!
