EVIE IS COMING HOME!!!!
Ev is being discharged today. We all have some reservations about it. Yesterday she walked the furthest she has walked so far, down to the end of the hospital floor and back around and down. She stood to brush her teeth yesterday too.
She had hoped to be a bit stronger before they discharge her, but they insist she will improve faster at home. She will be staying with Mom and Paul as long as needed! It's perfect because we are all close by, and she can be on one floor too.
A PSW and a nurse will come on differing days, to help with showers etc, and to do the dressing changes on Ev's back. Her back has improved a lot, but is still quite swollen and red by the hip, with a few lingering black blisters.
Her back needs to heal a bit more before they will start the treatment on her multiple myeloma. Apparently the route they are going before the stem cell transplant could make her quite sick.
Happy to have her home.
Please keep praying and keep Evie in your thoughts.
She would LOVE visitors at mom and Paul's... and is looking forward to board games and more time with her great-nephew!
Thanks everyone!
