Daddy's service today was truly beautiful - I'm sure he would have been very pleased with the way it proceeded, and having worked in a funeral home himself, with the care that he and the family received from Mulkey. The Reverand Jimmy Pollard traveled some distance to officiate and everyone who participated in the service was wonderful. Chris was able to speak as well, reminding to celebrate Daddy's life and sharing memories that made us laugh in the midst of our sorrow.
The outpouring of love for Daddy and our family has been amazing and we can't express our gratitude enough. Many, many family members, friends, and co-workers traveled a variety of distances (some very long!) to visit us at the house and to attend the visitation and funeral. The prayer and support that we have recieved has been truly appreciated. And I have to mention the food - so many wonderful people bringing food - Daddy would have loved that, too, because he loved to eat. :)
I miss him so very, very much already and look forward to the day I will see him again in Heaven. It's hard to imagine a world without my Daddy in it, but I believe with all of my heart that I will see him in the next one, and then I will never have to say goodbye to him again.
