Chad's Hospital Stay

Chad's treatment had been going pretty smothly since starting at the end of February. However, last Monday after getting home from treatment Chad began getting chills and spiked a fever. After calling his doctor we were advised to go to the emergency room. After spending a couple of hours in the emergency room Chad was admitted to the hospital.

They determined that Chad's white blood cell count had gone all the way down to 0, meaning he was unable to fight off any infections/illnesses. The doctor said that he had some kind of infection although after sevearl tests they were unable to determine what the infection was or what caused it. After spending three days in the hospital they were able to bump his white blood cell count back up to normal and he was released.

During the rest of his treatment he is going to have to get injections that help boost his bone marrow and white blood cell count so that he doesn't end up back in the hospital. Yesterday he started his second cycle of the chemotherapy and so far, so good. He hasn't had any nausea so far this week and is feeling pretty good except for being tired and not having a lot of energy. Thank you for all of the prayers! They are certainly working!
