Progress
Jessica is pleased to report that Ryan has made significant progress over the past week. He was moved out of ICU on Tuesday night to a less intensive unit one floor below. He is starting to talk more and responding to more questions every day. Visits from Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Physical Therapy have helped to stimulate him and begin to regain lost skills. Today, with the help of a machine to lift him, the occupational therapist got him out sitting in a chair. Ryan needs to have the stamina to participate in 3-4 hours of therapy before moving to rehabilitation—something that is a gradual process as he continues to wake up from his come. His medical team hope he will be ready for this move within the next week or so. Many thanks to everyone for all of the meals, prayers and good thoughts.
