Saturday Night (7/21/12)
I visited Maria on Saturday night at Friedwald Center in New City, NY. I arrived around 7:45 PM and first noticed Maria was sweating (even though there was a huge sign that read "PLEASE DO NOT TURN OFF A/C"
I called in the nurse who turned the A/C back on and made sure the room was set to a comfortable temp.
I sat with Maria and noticed she seemed antsy, moving her legs alot, and blinking, while cowling. It seemed as if she seemed uncomfortable, so I asked the nurse to check her and he did a blood pressure check and other checks, of which then (about 10 mins. later) Maria seemed to settle down and be more comfortable.
I sat with Maria (rubbing her legs and arms) and talked with her. She would blink many times but i wasn't sure if she was trying to tell me something or if she just wouid blink.
I read Maria's notebook (which was started over a month ago, for those who visit her to record how she was doing) the last couple notebook posts (over the previous 3 days) read that Maria seemed to be doing pretty well. It said she was smiling and giggling alot...which is fantastic!!
So, I was a bit saddened to see Maria look as though she was uncomfortable. I told the nurse who assured me she was stable. He specifically told me how much Maria apprecietes visitors, so please try to visit as much as you can!!!
