9/11/20 - 9/12/20
Friday, September 11th: We have been so thankful to get settled back home and get much needed rest. At this time, due to COVID we have not been able to see Callahan in person quit yet. We did get negative tests back, which is good, but will still have to wait for the team to approve us to see Callahan. Although it is difficult to not be there in person, we are trusting the doctors and medical team. We are able to FaceTime her some and can't wait for the day where we can see her in person again!
Callahan is doing good since being at Hartford hospital. They finished her testing at Hartford hospital and she is reacting well. We got to FaceTime her for the second time on Friday and she gave us a thumbs up! Some things the team is making sure to keep an eye on is her mobility on her right side. Callahan has "full" signs of mobility on her left side (arm and hand) but has a deficit in strength/mobility on her right side at the moment.
But we keep hope! As the doctors have told us time and time again, there will be little bumps along the way but the most important part is to remain positive. We trust God will provide and heal Callahan! Even in the midst of unknowns we trust and know He is working. Early Saturday morning at 4:43am we got a FaceTime call from the hospital and Callahan was doing great while still on the ventilator. She could hear her dad and I and was giving us a thumbs up and moving her toes. The next step is to start the process of taking her off of the ventilator.
We continue to be blown away by all of the support we have from our family and friends. We want to say thank you to everyone who has been praying, sending meals and supporting us through this page/Facebook. We are so grateful for each of you and will update here soon!

Wonderful news to hear of Callahan’s progress! She is a fighter! Praise to God for holding her in his hands and protecting her. All praise goes to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hartford Hospital. Excellent that you were able to FaceTime with her and that she gave a thumbs up. With God’s will, one day at a time, her strength will return. Through Jesus, the healer of the universe, may she be strengthened and healed.
