11/21 Update

It's been a tough week for Callahan! She has fought through 5 days of severe headaches and body aches while enduring a lumbar drain. Yesterday she was given the news that she will have to undergo endoscopic nasal surgery to repair the CSF leak. She will have her Neuro surgeon and ENT surgeon performing this procedure. Although this wasn't the outcome Callahan wanted she understands the importance of having this procedure done.

Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, November 24th! Callahan will remain in the hospital until then to be watched closely. She is very sad that she will miss Thanksgiving with her family since her favorite thing to do is cook for everyone 馃挄Our hope is that she will be able to finally be home one week from today 馃檹馃徏

Please continue to pray for peace over Callahan as she waits to have surgery. We are praying for her surgeons that they have the wisdom to perform the surgery to repair the leak and keep her safe. Today Cal said "why didn't God answer my prayer to not have surgery and make me go through more pain?" I told her that God's timing is not the same as ours. HE knows better than we do when is the best time for our prayer to be answered. I told Cal that He could have something better in mind and to be patient to know that God is there with you through this valley and to have faith and peace knowing this. 馃檹馃徏

Our family is truly blessed to have such an amazing community that has loved and supported us through the past three months! We will keep posting updates. Thank you so much! 馃槝馃檹馃徏 #prayforcal

Dear Callahan: You are very brave! Performing an endoscopic surgery will be God鈥檚 way of rewarding you for your patience and strength. God has huge plans for you, my dear! Just this last thing to fix the leak and you will be home in one week, drinking salty dogs again with Kingsley in your bed by your side. I pray for you every single day. Bumpy is watching over you now and is sending strength and love into your beautiful heart. We love you and instill faith and prayer in the knowledge and skill of the ENT team and neurosurgeons to fix this and get you home. Sending all my love and hugging you virtually right now! I am very proud of you. Love, Auntie Carey

Dear Callahan, Sorry to hear you need additional surgery. We鈥檒l pray for this to be a huge success and no more surgeries. You have been through so much in such a short period of time. You are in great hands with your surgeons. May your headaches become less painful and disappear. May the Sun shine brightly through your window during the day and the Moon shine brightly at night. Know that you are loved by so many! Let that love be a warm comforting blanket surrounding you always. Praying for you. KayO & Nathan C.

Callahan, I have just learned of your accident. You will be in my prayers! The feisty, determined second grader I remember continues to meet every challenge. Have faith in your doctors and know you are surrounded by people who will lift you up! Stay strong!

Dear Callahan- I had three blue jays at my kitchen window this morning. The biblical meaning of seeing a blue jay is to communicate well, persist, and plan for the future. It may also symbolize protection and fearlessness. These blue jays are for you, dear one. God is protecting you, watching over you, and offering you the best care in the hands of excellent doctors. We pray for their skill and your will to persevere. I see today鈥檚 blue jays as a true sign of things to come for you. I love you. Auntie Carey

Dear Callahan, Yesterday, there were SEVEN Blue Jays in my tree by my kitchen window. Representing fearlessness, these were for you. Hoping you are feeling better and sending you strength every day. Hope you get to go home today or tomorrow so that you can rest in your comfy bed with Kingsley. Love, Auntie Carey
