Welcome Back!! Natalia Sofia!!!

Coming back home from the hospital was bittersweet. We were looking forward to sleeping thru the night, and above all.....in your own bed! Things were different in more ways than one. :(  This time around, she is weaker and nauseous with the occasional bout of vomiting....and of course less hair.

Childlife (a dept. from the hospital that deals directly with children) was scheduled to inform Natalia's class about her condition on Thursday(today).  Once we got to school, nurse Tina and Mrs. Janicki(her teacher) made her feel welcome! On her desk was a bouquet of flowers, and a card....and the students all requested that she stayed a bit longer after the presentation! The childlife presentation was a success..they included Gabriel, cousins, and a close friend in the presentation. They explained that cancer is not contagious, talked about the good and bad cells, talked about natalia and shared her story with the students....including the fact that she was going to loose her hair...but that it will grow back, once the treatment was done. They explained what chemo is, and that it is a strong medication that will make Natalia better!  AMAZING! They were Great answering ALL their questions, and showing the kids their puppet with a port for medicine.

KUDOS TO ST JOE'S Childlife dept. and to LUTZ PREP school for such amazing support in making Natalia feel loved!
