FULL SPEED AHEAD

After three intense  months of chemo, tonight is the last night of chemotherapy BEFORE surgery. It will then continue for the next nine months.

What was supposed to transpire in the next 3-4 weeks, was done tonight and will continue tomorrow. Follow up scans are now being done, and surgery will take place in less than two weeks.....taking us ALL by storm. Doctors informed me this morning that they DO NOT want to wait For after Thanksgiving.

Next thing we know, Sofia is being taken for X-rays, and two scans....one of which she had to be sedated for the last time. Sitting in the room with her, I watched her on the MRI table, as it moved into the tube, while the machine made those horrible loud sounds.....this time she was not under anesthesia, and had to HOLD STILL for an hour.

She was watching a movie, and had the headphones over her ears. I was reminded of the last time she was in that room, and how she had an entire team of people working on her. How she was in so much pain, that even with the morphine drip, she was still thrashing around The stretcher. (Flashback: 8-13)

God brought to memory Isaiah 26:3,12:

You will keep in perfect PEACE those whose minds are steadfast, because they TRUST in you.

Lord, you establish PEACE for us; all that we have accomplished YOU have done for us.

As I sang this verse, I watched my daughter LAY STILL for an hour.....when she came out, she said that even with her headphones on, she was startled when the loud banging sound started, and she became fearful...and was crying....quietly.....but she KNEW she had to hold still, so she did! She had two more scans after that!

I am so proud of the courageous young lady that The Lord has Blessed me with...my beautiful Sofia.
