One step closer........
All of her tests came back NEGATIVE, and she has been fever-free since yesterday!! Her platelets are on the rise, and today they were a perfect 75!!! So when the doctor came in to announce that she may start chemo....we were overjoyed! We are one step closer to the finish line!! This was her LAST Iv inpatient chemotherapy....and if all goes as scheduled, next week will be her very LAST outpatient chemo injection....FOREVER!!! It has been a grueling 11 months.....it is difficult to imagine what life AFTER chemo is going to be like.
The nurses were mentioning that Ewing's chemotherapy was extremely intense, that the patients get chemo after chemo with no breaks, and that one parent usually has to stop working, and live out of the hospital. I can still remember every detail of day one of our journey.......The ONLY way that we have survived this journey is by putting our trust and confidence in our Lord JESUS Christ, and knowing that HE is in control, willing HIS purpose and plan over us, that HE alone is our source of strength, peace, healing, comfort and joy. Soo grateful for his word.....our daily bread...our sustenance! Where would we be WITHOUT him?
He who holds Natalia Sofia in the palm of his hand..JESUS.......is the one driving our boat.

I guess treatment for Ewing's has not changed all that much in 34 years. What my son went through was grueling. But we have no choice but to subject our children to this for the sake of saving their lives. I am glad you can begin to see the finish line! Sending continued prayers and hugs for Natalia Sofia.
