JESUS.....OUR ANCHOR

An´chor Pronunciation: ăņ´kẽr
n. 1. A iron instrument which is attached to a ship by a cable (rope or chain), and which, being cast overboard, lays hold of the earth by a fluke or hook and thus retains the ship in a particular station.
2. Any instrument or contrivance serving a purpose like that of a ship's anchor, as an arrangement of timber to hold a dam fast; a contrivance to hold the end of a bridge cable, or other similar part; a contrivance used by founders to hold the core of a mold in place.
3. Fig.: That which gives STABILITY or SECURITY; that on which we place DEPENDENCE for safety.

Monday night we noticed a humongo bump in Natalia's upper arm......red, and hot to the touch. I thought bug bite and treated it as such......and then the thought that this could be a recurrence flooded my mind...fear started to set it and I was starting to get symptomatic.....that's how the lump in her leg looked like.....what if??
I realized at that moment that whatever the outcome, whatever the end of the story was, GOD is in control, and it was out of my hands....I am totally helpless.
The battle in my mind had to be turned over to JESUS or it would eat me alive.

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

I had to act on the word of God, and line up my thoughts(fiery darts) in obedience to Christ....no one else could do this for me......I HAD to focus on JESUS and what HIS word says.
The next day, as I walked Natalia into the school, God reminded me of an ANCHOR. He is my anchor.....
THE ANCHOR THAT HOLDS THE BOAT FIRMLY IN PLACE, AND GIVES IT STABILITY SO THAT IT DOESN'T DRIFT AWAY.

THANK YOU JESUS, because you are THE TRUE LIVING GOD! You understand our human feelings and lovingly remind us that YOU are the one in whom we should place our total dependence on. COMPLETELY focusing on you, JESUS.

The next day, I took her to the PCP (primary care physician) and he said it was a nasty bug bite WITH cellulitis. He put her back on antibiotics to treat it and Benadryl around the clock.

The new NORMAL is taking some time getting used to.......new ROUTINES, SCHEDULES, FOLLOW-UPS, etc.
Natalia just got over a kidney infection, and had the work up done of her kidneys/bladder. Praise JESUS the ultrasound came back normal!!!
