Natalia Sofia has been loving her new school and enjoying life as a "normal" middle schooler! Last Saturday, she woke up and came over to me saying..."mom, did the cancer come back?" As she pointed to a lump with a dark bruise on her forearm. No doubt, the question shook me up to the core. I quickly regained my composure, and answered with a wide smile..."Noo, you must have hit yourself without knowing!" As a cancer mom, you know which is the next step to take....
Mental note: quietly observe...NO jumping the gun...NO.MATTER.WHAT.PRAY. A few days went by and then the arm pain began. Since her treatment, Natalia lives in daily pain. I admire the strength that ONLY GOD gives her to do a lot of the things that she does WITH pain. She usually forgoes meds and pushes through. Recently, due to the high doses of chemo drugs that she's received (from the 60's-80's), she's been diagnosed with neuropathy (PAINful weakness in her extremities).
Last night her pain was excruciating, and she asked for pain meds..."a ten plus" she shouted, as I ran to get her relief. In addition, she has been overly tired lately and experiencing frequent headaches.
Per her pedi's request, I took her today to get her lump looked at and run a CBC blood panel. Unexpectedly, her white count is a 1.2 from being normal Aug. 7th!!!
The doctor felt the lump and said it's hot to the touch, ordered X-rays, and another lab panel from the hospital....and we wait.

NO enemy shall prosper against us...Natalia is the Lord's! She is in the palm of his MIGHTY hands! I will trust in God come what may...here we are, Jesus, laying her on the throne. May your will be done...not mine. Whichever path you choose for us...TO YOU, JESUS, BE THE GLORY.
I am firmly standing on his promise...

This I declare about the Lord: HE alone is my refuge, my place of safety; HE is my God, and I TRUST him.
HE will cover you with his feathers. HE will shelter you with his wings. HIS faithful promises are your armor and protection.
