Here's to a new month!
Day Six at Shepherd and Rob keeps moving forward. We are happy to report Robert is sleeping through the night and that seems to be making a huge difference in his recovery. Still lots of pain in the ribs and back which slows down physical therapy.
Tonight his room on the 5th floor was turned into a supper club. Robert was surprised by a visit from Yahno Minasi, one of his dearest friends from my med school. Yahno and his daughter Gabriella drove from Greenville, SC, to spend the evening with Rob.
Robert and Nancy's nephew, William Schaefer, a Senior at Kennesaw State, rounded out the party. William was kind enough to bring us a delicious dinner from True Food Kitchen, Andrew Weil's amazing health conscious gourmet restaurant.
The connection with family and old friends was a tonic to Rob's heart and made for a delightful evening.

I will be in Atlanta for work the week of the 13th. Would like to pop in for a brief hello.
Keep the healing times, food and energy flowing. Love to all. Krista
This makes my heart sing
Great pictures...looks like an evening of friends and food was a boost to Dr. Kyler's spirit...best medicine! Prayers for continued and improved management of pain, so therapy can progress without any delays. Jordan, thank you for the update. Karen
Prayers and well wishes for Dr. Kyler. You helped to get us through a rough time in our lives that we will be forever grateful for. Waiting on your return to Augusta. Much love and prayers, Steve and Ginger Webb
You are certainly an inspiration, which we already knew from your work at AMC. We hope that when you come back to the valley you will come to the farm and take in the sights, smells and sounds and give us a chance to get to know Rob, rather than Dr. Our porches will always be here for you and your family. Gods blessings are very evident in your progress and in your smile. You and your family will always be in our prayers, wishing you all the best, Brian and Penny
Love the beard Rob!!! 😜
Nice to hear that you are sleeping better and eating delicious food with friends in addition to making progress at Shepherd. I continue to send loving kindness and healing to you and your family. Beard is looking good!
Rob, thinking of you and prayers. Keep moving forward. You are an inspiration.
Thanks for the pictures, I loved seeing that smile on your face - Dr Kyler. You are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Well wishes are being sent your way from so many that want to know how you are doing.
I'm so glad you are surrounded by loving family and friends. You have been our steadfast rock in our time of sickness and need at AMC; allow us now to pour our gratitude and support towards you. With loving regards from this cancer patient and friend.
Loved seeing the pictures. I know you have the strength and courage to move forward. Lots of love to you and your family. Keeping you our prayers.
Looks like you have so many wonderful friends and family members to keep you busy during your recovery! You look great and know you are working unbelievably hard at rehabilitation! Praying each and every day for your pain to go away, for great strides in your recovery, and for the Lord’s blessing of healing! Prayers, also, for your family!
Keep the faith Rob; we all are! We are holding you and your family in our hearts and prayers. Karen
Thank you for sharing these moments with us. Continued prayers to you and your family 💕 xxoo LB
Rob and family, I just received your journal site, but I've had you in my heart and prayers since I heard of your accident. I will continue to pray that you out distance all of the "best case" results in your recovery therapy!
Thinking of you often, prayers for strength and recovery.
You've been in my thoughts frequently since learning of your accident. I hope the vast network of friends, colleagues and family you've engendered over the years serves as a deep source of solace and strength as you rehab. You certainly will remain in my thoughts.
Rob, Nancy, Alex, and Jordan, Jean and I only recently learned of your accident and send our love, prayers, and encouragement to all of you. I belong to a men's prayer group that met this morning. I shared your situation as I know it and offered a prayer for your recovery. We send cards to match circumstances signed by each in attendance that I will send if you will share an address. The support I read and hear about and your post of August 4 is comforting, knowing the support and encouragement will continue. Follow your doctor's instructions and push through therapy. Blessings to all. Frank Gearing
Hi Dr. Kyler, so sorry to hear of your bike wreck. My friend Sharon Spalding gave me the link to this site to keep up with you. You said it all when you said you could wallow in self-pity or get on with life. You are so full of life and you have got this! Coming from a wound care nurse make sure you are doing your pressure relief measures! I don't want to have to see your back side down the road! :) Take care and take comfort in knowing there is lots of love surrounding you on this difficult path. Tough times never last but tough people do. Fondly, Dianne Moody
