Nancy....
I realized after re-reading my post from last night that I left out one very important point. None of the progress made to date could have been accomplished without Nancy by my side, pushing, encouraging, comforting, making nice with the nurses, changing my sheets, and all the rest that almost never gets its proper recognition. This journey is one that the two of us are taking together, and I couldn't do it without her.

Nancy is a gem. You are a lucky man. Still thinking of you often, and following your progress with great interest. Heavy rain on my way down the Valley to see Mom today. Shes still in rehab, resting and recovering. Set back a bit by “c diff” spore. But they are on top of it. Might beg us enough time for a Woodlands opening!
Hi Rob & Nancy, Love the photo. I was thinking about all the wheelchair options you were talking about, Rob, and I remember seeing Chuck Close around New York. He had the most amazing wheelchair I’ve ever seen. He could raise and lower himself to different heights and seemed to be able to go everywhere. I also read about a custom sailboat for a paraplegic recently that she sailed in solo with breath controls. There was a boat trailing her, but still. The technology is impressive. That’s great news about becoming an outpatient. The world is still out here in all its murky glory. xoxo

How lovely and comforting to see you with your family. I know they are a crucial lifeline. My husband Dennis pulled me through the cancer treatment with your help and expertise. My heart is full of thankfulness for Nancy and your children.

Oh, Dr. Kyler, you are such an inspiration! You are a very strong individual and this is just a detour for you! When I was diagnosed with MS at 40 years old, I was petrified. All I could think about was life in a wheelchair. During the last 18 years, I have learned a lot about life!!!!!!!!!! I have learned that our families are unbelievably loyal and uplifting. I have learned that what the WORLD deems important, really is not. I have learned that whatever infirmaties we may have do not define who we are. I have learned that our soul, our personality, and our attitude is really what helps us connect to others. I have learned that my spirit determines how a situation unfolds. I have learned that my Lord will never leave me or forsake me. Today, although I have not experienced the outcome I once feared, I have prepared myself for it everyday. My experience led me to a daily walk with Christ Jesus. Without Him, I would have gone crazy. I hope and pray that you will lean on him during your trials. I am praying for you daily!
