Day 336- YEAR ONE... of beating cancer

ONE YEAR OLD.

There were days we thought this milestone would never come. Yet, here we are. Handing him a cupcake (that he refused), and singing a song that feels much more meaningful when we know the battle it took to get here. Without tubes, without medicines, without a ventilator. WITH family, and friends, and hair, and so much happiness.

And that SMILE. Always, that smile.

To celebrate this occasion we put together a slideshow of his first year. It's worth watching through to the very end... we promise.

Special thanks to Harmony Blackwell and Matt Altmix for the gift of some pictures of our family we will treasure for a lifetime. A giant thanks to the village of people that acted as the hands and feet, and carried us through this year.

Most of all, thank you Red. For entering our lives and making everything more meaningful.

FULL SCREEN AND VOLUME UP!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE WARRIOR.

AMAZING news, what a gift for the holidays not only for your family, but for all of us strangers that follow your fight. Happy Birthday sweet, strong Red, and congratulations to your incredible family who also deserve this so much. Can't wait for more good news in 2016, wishing the Irving family a very Merry Christmas.

I applaud you, Brian and Beri, in dealing with this disease. Your boys are so beautiful and amazing. Those angelic faces say it all; there is inner strength that comes through loud and clear. My prayers continue on this special birthday occasion for Redden to continue on this healing path!

Oh this video had me laughing and crying - such a range of emotions. Due to your great eye and your willingness as parents to share your story both verbally and with images. Without this, we wouldn't know. We wouldn't be changed forever. Red is one amazing boy and this year he has given us all such an amazing gift, thank you for sharing. We love you Red.

Moved to tears! My heart has been heavy and hopeful for your family as I've followed Red's journey this past year. That news at the end of the video is incredible. Red is incredible. I am elated to hear of this amazing progress. Thank you for sharing your story. The lessons of strength, gratitude, and perspective that Red has taught you and your family have been taken to heart by myself and so many others. Much love from the Brady family to yours. Happy Birthday Redden!
