Happy Halloween!
Below is the post that I wrote on Halloween, but it did not post for some reason. Tomorrow Sofia goes to Stanford for counts and LP with chemo. Hoping her counts are up and we can get back on track!!
Happy Halloween!!!
I wanted to give a quick update and share some pics.
Last week we wanted to take Sofia in for some allergy testing to see if we can pinpoint what is causing this ongoing cough. To prepare for testing we did a set a labs last Tuesday and found out that Sofia was neutropenic, again. We were put on a chemo hold for one week. Since this is our second drop we will now stair step our chemo dosage once we recover counts. To be safe we stayed in for most of last week.
Sofia has been feeling great so we decided to let her go to the neighborhood Halloween party over the weekend. I thought for sure her numbers were up. I was wrong. We got labs this morning and she's still neutropenic. So another week of no chemo and now holding our weekend antibiotic.
We were bummed to hear this news but we didn't let it ruin our Halloween fun! Our friend Ava started maintenance today so we went over to their house for some trick or treating. Watching those two girls hold hands, practically running from house to house was amazing. Last year at this time Sofia had been getting low grade fevers. Not many, but she definitely had one on Halloween, so we didn't do much. She was complaining that her legs were just too tired to walk. It's crazy to think that her body was full of leukemia and we didn't know. This year was the opposite of last year! Smiles and running!!! And some really cute pixie hair cuts on these girls with their hair growing in so fast!!! Noni also loved trick or treating, but he wanted to walk into all the houses and give hugs!
So another quiet week, letting Sofia's body heal and get stronger. Next week we are back in for a lumbar puncture and chemo. Praying that we can get these counts to settle into a steady number before our big Hawaii trip in December!!
Thank you for your continued prayers and support! #teamsofia

Gina it's good to hear that Sofia and her family had so much fun this past Halloween. I hope that Sofia's numbers have come back up and that you have found out what is causing her cough. Little Noni must be getting quite adventurous now that he is walking. I pray for Sofia's complete recovery every day and will continue. Thanks for the update.
