Day 83 - No wires!

Levi has now been in the hospital for 83 days.  Whoa!   But today is a very significant day as it is the first day in all of that time that he was able to be disconnected from all of the breathing tubes, feeding tubes, iv’s, and central lines.   He had a two hour period completely unhooked with no wires!   Talk about a sense of freedom.

Other things he has not done in 83 days?

- Go outside to feel the sunshine or fresh air

- Wear pants ( he came in with shorts...but those must have been lost in the ER or OR or ICU or just about anywhere)   Trust us, this is something he was never a fan of anyway.

- Play with his big brother Owen

- Eat real food

- Pet his crazy dog Radar

But, thankfully, we are getting so close to him being able to do all of those things again (maybe not the food yet...but soon)  Today Beth and Zack will be running the show - giving meds, doing the tube feeds, conducting his physical therapy    All of this as preparation for...LEVI MAY GET TO GO HOME!

He is doing so well over the past two days that they are hoping he can go home as early as sometime this weekend!   He will have to come back to the hospital soon to get more tests and restart treatment, but they are hoping he can spend at least a few days in the place he belongs - HOME

It hasn’t been the same without our little Buddy.  Let’s all keep our fingers crossed and prayers lifted that the only battle The Amazing Levi will have to fight over the next week is whether or not he has to wear those silly thing called pants while resting in his own house.

Oh wow! Amazing Levi, we are so proud of you! And I vote no for the pants. You've still got those little cutie half boy/half baby legs that shouldn't be covered up. My prayers for a sweet long weekend!
